The mew version of altec’s Full Metal Stick is fully customizable
to suit any clients’ individual needs.
Having encapsulated the Flash memory in a 2 mm aluminium case, the Full
Metal Stick is protected against shock and vibration.

When working on a customer project, altec ComputerSysteme GmbH was made
aware of the need for a rugged compact storage facility, able to meet the
complex demands required by extremely rough conditions such as is the case
for military systems.
The new altec Full Metal Stick Military has been subjected to extensive
vibration, shock and climate tests by TELUS Testlabor und Umweltsimulation
GmbH. The memory stick successfully passed test requirements in accordance
with not only the German DIN standards but also the MIL-STD 810F.
The standard version of the Full Metal Stick currently available in capacities
ranging from
1.0 to 4.0 GB and for a temperature range of 0°C to +70°C (operating).
A version for an extended temperature range of –40°C to +85°C
(operating) can also be delivered. Custom case designs, colours and laser-engraving
are available according to client needs.
The Full Metal stick has a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface and is downwards
compatible to the USB 1.1. No driver is required for Windows ME, 2000
and XP or Mac OS 9.x and Mac OS X.
