1. USB Stick CopyStation will be deliverable shortly

Our newest development for the duplication of data images to USB Sticks will be available in August 2006.

The in-house developed copy software operates with a specific USB 2.0 Hub. This entry-level solution, which copies data images to up to seven USB memory sticks simultaneously, runs under Windows 2000 or XP.

Two software options allow for the serialisation or encryption of the data on the stick or for the shortening of programming times when the stored data is smaller than the maximum storage capacity of the USB memory stick.

2. High-Speed CopyStation will be compatible with TrustedFlash

Due to altec’s close partnership with SanDisk, the altec High-Speed CopyStation will be compatible with SanDisk’s TrustedFlash cards, probably starting in Q4.

TrustedFlash Card provide for different levels of complex and secure encryption of the data stored on the cards.

This way, small and medium numbers of TrustedFlash cards can be preloaded with content such as music or data for navigation systems.

4. NEW: SanDisk SD High Capacity (SDHC) 4 GB

Our distributor SanDisk has introduced a SD memory card which adheres to the new SD 2.0 specification.

This SDHC card with 4 GB capacity is not downwards compatible to the existing SD Cards. The new SD High Capacity memory media fits into standard SD Card slots but applications as card reader or digital cameras explicitly need to be compatible with the cards.

The addressing of the flash sections is done by sectors and not by bytes as done by those which adhere to the SD Card 1.1. specification. Address registers of the SDHC comprise 22 Bit. This results in a maximum addressable storage capacity of 32 GB.
