1. NEW: USB Stick CopyStation
At the beginning of August, altec will launch a starter’s
solution for the duplication of content on USB Sticks.
An in-house developed software as well as a specific USB
2.0 hub will provide for the duplication of content to up
to seven USB sticks simultaneously. The duplication software
will have the same «look & feel» as
the software of all other CopyStations.
In the next edition of our newsletter we will provide you

on our website as well.

2. NEW: CardBoxes for MS PRO Duo & MS
PRO
Besides our recently launched microSD CardBox
for the altec High-Speed CopyStation, there are two other CardBoxes shortly to be introduced.
A CardBox for Memory Stick PRO Duo memory cards will be available
by mid August 2006. Only a few weeks later, a CardBox for Memory Stick
PRO will also be finished. Both CardBoxes copy card images to up to 20
memory cards simultaneously.
The new CardBoxes prove the excellence of the modular concept
of altec’s High-Speed CopyStation.
Eight different exchangeable CardBoxes enable the direct copying of 13 memory
card formats. The altec High-Speed CopyStation will support all new major
memory card formats in the future.

3. NEW: SiliconDrive Secure product line
The new product line offers unique security features to guard
against critical user data falling into the wrong hands or
software IP theft.
From now on, all SiliconDrive products are also available
in SiliconDrive Secure versions. Seven security features
are integrated into this memory media, which is recognized by the suffix
-3550 added to
the article numbers. These features consist of different
data protection mechanisms, data erasure on different levels as well as
the tying of data
to the memory media. More...

4. NEW: SanDisk controller and memory
Our long-time supplier SanDisk has announced a change to
the controller for the CompactFlash
Cards
64, 128 and 256 MB as well as for the
SD Cards
512 MB, 1 and 2 GB.
By the end respectively mid July 2006, CompactFlash
Card
and SD Card
with capacities of 256 MB will be delivered with a new
memory technology. These products are transitioning
from 90 to 70 nm.
All these changes help to improve the memory cards’ performance.
Qualification samples of all memory cards mentioned
above are available from now on. Please contact

5. RoHS status at altec
On our website you
will find information regarding the RoHS compliance
of all altec products as well as the announcement of
RoHS compliant successors.
Some Flash
Card Drives
and
Solid
State Disks
can be manufactured in RoHS compliant versions if needed
for larger projects. Few products are End of Life or
can only be delivered in non RoHS compliant versions. Some of the EOL
products can be manufactured
in non RoHS compliant versions if needed for projects.

6. July price lists for downloading
If you haven't already done so, you can register to
