New product line offers unique security features to guard
against critical user data falling into the wrong hands or software IP theft.
With SiliconDrive Secure SiliconSystems adds a product family with unprecedented
security features to its portfolio.
SiliconDrive Secure provides the
most secure and robust storage platform for the most demanding applications
and therefore protects application data from misuse.
Up to now, security solutions – especially in consumer electronics
applications – are tied to the storage device. This allows the
user to protect and use the data on any systems, whether it is an office
PC, home computer etc.
SiliconSystems realized that Enterprise System OEMs operate under a
different premise. Data must be rendered unreadable if the storage devices
are removed from the system for which they were intended.
The security
is better to be tied directly to the host system, providing the host
with ultimate control over security algorithms. Tying security to the
host system is especially useful to companies that routinely ship software
IP upgrades that could be vulnerable to theft.
Therefore, all SiliconDrive
Secure products are not only equipped with SiliconSystems’ established
security technologies but also the new technologies SiSecure and SiKey. SiSecure is a security feature that prevents application data from falling
into the wrong hands or software IP theft.
SiKey ties application data and software IP to a specific SiliconDrive
Secure so that the host system can verify the drive and create unique
encryption keys to prevent theft. Even if the software is copied onto
another device, it does not work properly in the host system. You will recognize the SiliconDrive Secure versions by the suffix -3550 added
to the article number. |

SiZone: Up to five different data zones with different
security parameters.
SiSweep: Ultra fast data erasure.
SiScrub: Ultra fast data erasure followed by a
programmed pattern.
SiPurge: Non-recoverable data erasure.
SiProtect: Software write protection for read-only
access.
SiSecure:
Password required for read/write access.
SiKey: Ties SiliconDrive Secure to a specific
host and/or software IP.
All SiliconDrive Secure products are also fitted
with unique basic technologies:
The PowerArmor™ technology prevents destruction of memory cells and
data loss if the power supply fails when writing data.
The SiSMART™ technology monitors the write/erase cycles of the flash cells
in the cards and drives. This way it is possible to predict the remaining
life span of the products and to plan the future usage.
