1. NEW: altec Webshop is online

Now you can register at www.altec-shop.de for our altec Webshop. Here you will be able to order from a selected range of SanDisk and altec products online from the comfort of your desktop at all times. The portfolio of products will be regularly updated.

2. NEW: Robo CopyStation M2 is in use

Robo CopyStation M2 is delivered to a manufacturer of mobile phones. There it is mainly used for copying images onto microSD and RS-MMC cards which are an integral part of the basic equipment for mobile phones. So the customer does not only get a new mobile phone but also music, videos, games, ring tones and an accessory catalogue on the included memory card.

The development of Robo CopyStation M2 is based upon our experience of many years in the field of copying stations for mobile memory media. Being the most enhanced product of its kind, Robo CopyStation M2 is unrivalled.

Robo CopyStation M2 obtains very high speed rates without making manual interferences necessary. The high throughput of more than 1 Million low capacity memory cards per month guarantees a short return on investment.

3. NEW: SiSMART in all SiliconDrive™ products

New RoHS compliant SiliconDrive™ products of the Californian manufacturer SiliconSystems will be gradually equipped with the new SiSMART. The SiSMART feature will be integrated in the SiliconDrive standard products without price premium.

This new patent pending technology monitors the write/erase cycles of the flash cells in the cards and drives. This way it is possible to predict the remaining life span of the products and to plan the future usage as well as now making a preventive maintenance for memory media possible.

4. NEW: RoHS compliant SiliconDrive™ products

This month, SiliconSystems will start producing RoHS compliant products. The first product to be RoHS compliant will be CompactFlash which can be ordered now. The other products will follow, starting mid of April.

There will be an addition -35xx (instead of -30xx) to the article numbers of all RoHS compliant products. The letter B (for German "bleifrei" meaning lead-free) will also be added in front of altec's article numbers. Those products containing lead are still available.

5. NEW: altec USB MultiDrive 4

The USB MultiDrive 4, the successing product for the discontinued USB MultiDrive 5, is now available. The new product only differs in the omission of the Smart Media Card slots and its reduced price.

The new USB MultiDrive 4 has four card slots for PC Card, CF Card, SD Card/MMC and Memory Stick. There is an internal and an external version, which are both fitted with an USB 2.0 HiSpeed interface.

6. Copying services for audio books

For bundle or marketing activities you can now upgrade your memory cards or USB Sticks with content such as audio books. Due to our good relations with holders of rights we can provide you with a choice of audio books at very good prices.

Please let us know your ideas for attractive content. We also organise the rights for content, if needed, provide you with memory media at low prices and transfer the image onto the memory cards with our copying stations. According to your needs we apply labels to the cards and insert them into jewel cases.

7. EOL: SanDisk USB Flash Drive Mini

We announce the immediate EOL of the SanDisk USB Flash Drive Mini. A Last Time Buy is not possible. Alternatively, SanDisk's more compact USB Flash Drive Micro can be used.

8. EOL: SanDisk USB Sticks 64 MB

SanDisk has announced the immediate End of Life of the 64 MB capacities of the USB Flash Drives Micro and Waterproof. There is no Last Time Buy. The alternative to this product is the next capacity of 128 MB.

9. NEW: altec Newsletter in HTML

From now on you will receive our monthly newsletter in a new layout. It is mailed to you in either HTML or pure text format. The setup of your E-Mail program determines the format in which the newsletter is displayed.

You can also find the newsletter in the news section of our website. If you do not want to receive the newsletter anymore, you can sign off by using the unsubscribe buttom on top of the HTML-Newsletter or by sending an E-Mail to newsletter@altec-cs.com.

10. March price lists for downloading

If you haven't already done so, you can register to receive our monthly price list online in the price section of our website. After receiving your passwort, you can download the current price list for industrial memory media and Consumer/OEM products.

The price list can be downloaded as a PDF file (ca. 200 KB) or as a zipped Excel file (ca. 1,3 MB).
