At the electronica
fair in Munich, SanDisk announced that it will soon
increase the
maximum storage capacities
for a wide range of memory cards.
From December, CompactFlash Cards will
be shipping with up to 4 GB (Industrial
Grade) and 8 GB (Standard Grade) and PC Cards will
be shipping with up to 8 GB (Industrial
Grade) and
16 GB (Standard Grade).
From January, SD Cards
Industrial Grade will
be available with up to 1 GB and for the first
time with the extended temperature range of –40°C
bis +85°C (operating).
TransFlash memory modules will also be available
from January with a maximum storage capacity of 256 MB and
also for the extended temperature range of –40°C
bis +85°C
(operating).
SanDisk already announced an SD Card with 2 GB and
the high capacity Memory Stick PRO (MS PRO 4 GB;
MS PRO Duo 1 GB) at the end of October.
At the same time, the maximum storage capacity for miniSD was
doubled (to 512 MB)
and for RS-MMC it
has been increased by a factor of four (also to 512 MB).
