1. NEW: IQ CopyStation even faster with "Copy on Insertion™"

The proved altec IQ CopyStation is now extended by "Copy on Insertion™".

The "Copy on Insertion™" mode further increases the card throughput since the copy Process start automatically as soon as the memory card is inserted in the slot. It allows more or less continuous copying, since it avoids the separate phases of inserting all of the memory cards, waiting until the copying is finished and removal of all the memory cards.

2. NEW: IQ Copy Station is now an eye-catcher as well

The IQ Copy Station is already a technological leader with an accumulative transfer rate of up to 2,000 MBytes/s, Copy on Insertion™ technology, stand-alone mode and the newly-developed IQ PowerSoftware. It is now an eye-catcher too. Following many requests from customers, the case colours of the new IQ CopyStation models can be now chosen and combined as you like.

Take this chance to brighten up your workplace. Choose a colour which matches your company’s colour, the decorations in the room or just according to your personal taste.

A large number of colours are available. For a surcharge, the IQ CopyStation can even be manufactured in a colour of your own choice.

3. New product: CopyStation Lite

altec's new entry-level Flash Media CopyStation Lite for less than 1,000 Euros sets a new standard in price/performance ratio. It is specially designed small to medium-sized copying volume.

The multi-slot Flash Media copy module is installed in a standard 5.25 inch PC drive bay. Three different copy modules are available, for D/SDHC/MMC/MMCplus (8 Slots), microSD/SDHC (8 Slots) and CompactFlash Type I & II (8 Slots). The state-of-the-art technology allows a transfer rate of up to 50 MBytes/s over all 8 slots.

4. New product: Full Metal Stick USB Lite

As a result of numerous customer requests, altec has now released the full metal stick USB Lite as a rugged Entry Level System.

The Full Metal Stick USB Lite is manufactured from high quality components. Encapsulation with 2 mm thick aluminium makes it very robust and makes it nice to hold in the hand. The used quality flash-chip technology guarantees high speed and long lifetime.

It is available in capacities of 1 32GB.

For the case, you can optionally choose anodised colours, laser engraving and even cases to your own design.

5. The IQ CopyStation has been awarded the title "Qualified Product" from the Initiative Mittelstand

The „Initiative Mittelstand“ (German initiative for small and medium size enterprises) has awarded the altec IQ CopyStation the title "Qualified product" in the competition category "Innovative IT Products". This year, the patron of the innovation prize for IT was the German Federal Ministry for Economics and Technology.

The award is intended for small and medium-sized German companies for ground-breaking products, solutions and services in the field of information technology.

According to the jury: "Your ground-breaking product IQ CopyStation is one of the promising entries for the innovation prize IT 2009 for the Initiative Mittelstand".

The high speed and simple operation leading to excellent copying efficiency were surely the convincing criteria for the jury.

The IQ CopyStation sets completely new standards when duplicating flash media.

6. Review of the "altec Open House" from 20. to 24. April

This year too, many visitors to the Hannover Industrial Fair took the favourable opportunity of visiting the "altec Open House". After all, altec's premises in Langenhagen are only 25 km from the fairgrounds and 5 km from Hannover Airport. Regardless of whether you made own way or took the altec shuttle bus, the Open House gave you a chance to have a close look at the entire altec product range.

For example, all of the CopyStations were being demonstrated and could be tested. Some of the visitors also went on to experience the altec Robo CopyStation M1 and M2 in action in the secure zone of the development department.

A lot of informative discussions were held between the visitors and the altec sales team. More specialised technical questions were answered in detail by members of the altec development engineers.

Due to its success, it is planned to repeat the "altec Open House" at the next CeBIT Trade Fair in 2010. You should take the opportunity to visit altec in Langenhagen.

7. PCN: SanDisk SD Blue 2/4/8/16GB with new flash memory cell technology is ready for qualification

Due to a change to the memory technology, the SanDisk SD Blue with 2/4/8/16GB now has a new controller. Pre-series versions for qualification are available immediately (2 and 4 GB) and/or in June (8 and 16 GB).
