1. USB Stick CopyStation 21 available

Our new USB Stick CopyStation 21, which we already announced in the May issue of this newsletter, is now available.

The USB Stick CopyStation 21 offers the fast duplication of data-images to up to 21 USB sticks in a very short time. This way, USB Stick CopyStation 21 is an evolutionary advance of the proven 7 slot USB Stick CopyStation, which is the perfect entry level solution for USB stick duplication.

The new USB Stick CopyStation 21 convinces with software options like «File Copy» and «Short Image»; of which initially only the «Short Image» can be ordered (altec item no. 31AL1852).

The transfer speed of about 20 MB/sec is impressive as well. All of this makes the USB Stick CopyStation 21 the perfect solution for high volume copying.

You can order the standard version of the USB Stick CopyStation 21 with altec item no. B31AL185. It goes without saying that our 7 slot USB Stick CopyStation is still available.

2. New generation of SiliconDrive products

SiliconSystems has announced the launch of a new generation of SiliconDrive products. This new generation will gradually be introduced in addition to the 1st product generation, which will also still be available.

With its «2nd generation», SiliconSystems is responding even more to the rapidly changing demands of the market.

Faster host system interfaces and shrinking storage component process geometries had to be considered when planning the new products.

Advanced versions of the proven features PowerArmor, SiSMART and ECC will, of course, still be integrated into the SiliconDrive products. The next-generation will also feature additional interfaces such as SATA, UDMA and USB.

An improved performance (about 20 MB/s read rate and 16 MB/s write rate) accommodates the growing demands of host applications. New form factors will complement the portfolio. We will keep you informed on any product news.

3. SiliconDrive products available in capacities from 32 MB

SiliconSystems offers a variety of capacities in four different form factors
– CF
– PC Card
– 2.5" Drive
– 40-pin Modul

Small capacities starting from 32 MB are still available. This way, you only invest in the memory requirements that you actually need.

All SiliconDrive products feature the patented and unique «wear-leveling algorithms», which means that data is evenly written over the entire SiliconDrive, resulting in the longest possible drive life. In contrast, traditional flash card wear leveling algorithms do not write evenly over the entire card. Only the unused memory is available for wear leveling.

This means, that you do not need to add extra storage capacity to expand the drive life time when buying SiliconDrive products.

SiliconDrive products will surely convince you. Unique technologies, the best Error Correction available as well as minimal failure rates place them among the safest industrial memory media.

4. SiSMART and SiSecure SDK

A Software Development Kit for SiSMART feature and SiSecure functions is available for all interested customers.

The SDK features Application Programming Interfaces (API) to facilitate the implementation of SiliconDrives Secure’s technologies into the customer’s host application under Windows or Linux.

The SiSMART feature to predict the remaining life span of SiliconDrive products can easily be integrated into the application software with the SDK.

In order to receive the SDK, the customer needs to sign a Licence Agreement, which our sales team gladly provides.

5. Now 24 altec distributors worldwide

altec ComputerSysteme GmbH further expands its distribution network in Europe and overseas. Now altec has 24 distribution partners worldwide.

altec card copy machines are distributed through ISS Group in Sweden and through WG Electronics Sp. z.o.o. in Poland.

Outside of Europe, the altec distribution network is growing as well. Flame Imaging, Solstice Technologies Inc. and the ETKA Group Inc. will strengthen card copy machines for altec in the USA. Solstice Technologies Inc. has also taken over distribution in Canada. In South Africa, altec will be represented by Pinnacle Micro.

In China, altec’s industrial memory products are distributed through Lode Technology.

6. Attain Corporation – distributor in Japan

Attain, based in Tokyo/Japan, offers a variety of services and products such as

7. altec is member of IDDA

In May 2007, altec joined the International Disc Duplicating Association (IDDA).

The IDDA acts as a forum for organizations involved in the business of recording onto CD-R and DVD +/-R.

altec was already invited twice to speak at top-class symposiums. At the MEDIA-TECH Showcase & Conference in Barcelona in March 2007 as well as at the MEDIA-TECH Expo in Long Beach, California, in May 2007, altec’s specialists held lectures on the potential of flash memory as the mobile memory media of the future.
